Without Music by Playfio Music Productions

Playfio Music Productions present Without Music
I’m pleased to introduce my latest music offering. I’m really pleased with the way this one’s turned out and this is a great way to bring in the New Year. I took inspiration from this song from an article I wrote as part of a guest blog post for the Music Learning Workshop.

This article is called: “How does music have the ability to stir long lost emotions and memories?” if you would like to check out the article please find it here.

It begins with the following words:

Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Without music, life would be a mistake. “ It is probably a sentiment that most of us would agree with without any form of challenge.

I used this thought to put together the lyrics for this song. This is definitely a song of massive contrast so make sure you listen all the way through, to not miss the best bit. Also, speaking of the word ‘massive’, I have had a few comments so far regarding some similarities with Massive Attack, I’m certainly taking that as a compliment, definitely no bad thing!

The massive contrast of this track turns from 100BPM (beats per minute) to 160BPM in one second, quite a feat, working out how actually to do this and make the seamless join. It certainly helped listening to a couple of Pendulum’s tracks and see how the professionals do it. Their album ‘In Silico’ has some truly great builds and breaks and is definitely worth a listen, perfect driving music.

Anyways enough ramblings now, I hope you enjoy the first track of 2013 from Playfio Music and hope you all have a super year.

‘Without music’ centres on the importance of the link between music and your emotions. This is based on a dialogue that runs throughout the song accompanied by a pulsating beat which seems to ebb along. This takes an unexpected turn in the last 2 minutes of the song where all the sounds are kicked up a notch and the electronic beats collide in a rapid motion. It is an interesting creation which combines theories of music and sound.
